LIC’s Bima Sakhi Yojana is a stipendiary scheme exclusively for women, aimed at empowering them by providing opportunities to work as insurance agents (Bima Sakhis) with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The program offers specialized training and a stipend over a three-year period to promote financial literacy and insurance awareness, particularly in rural areas.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: Women aged between 18 and 70 years are eligible to apply.
- Educational Qualification: Minimum qualification required is a pass in 10th standard.
- Exclusions: Relatives of existing LIC agents or employees, retired LIC employees, ex-agents seeking reappointment, and existing agents are not eligible to apply.
Stipend Structure:
The scheme provides a monthly stipend over three years, subject to performance norms:
- First Year: ₹7,000 per month.
- Second Year: ₹6,000 per month, provided at least 65% of policies completed in the first year are in force.
- Third Year: ₹5,000 per month, with the condition that at least 65% of policies completed in the second year remain active.
Performance Requirements:
To continue receiving the stipend, Bima Sakhis must fulfill the following annual performance norms:
Number of Lives Insured: 24 policies per year.
First Year Commission (excluding Bonus Commission): ₹48,000 annually.
